A completely new mobile app to enhance customer centricity

Visma Sirius develops comprehensive and secure solutions for real estate, industry and intelligent automation. We have long collaborated and supported Visma Sirius’ digital development projects according to their needs. Most recently, we developed a mobile app alongside the web-based resident pages of the property management system Hausvise, which improves the customer experience and increases user engagement with the service.

Most recently, we developed a mobile app to accompany the web-based resident pages of the property management system Hausvise, which improves the customer experience and increases user engagement with the service.

Baseline and challenges

Hausvise is a property management system developed by Visma Sirius, primarily to meet the needs of the housing industry. The system speeds up and streamlines the day-to-day work of property management and enables the provision of new types of services to housing companies. Hausvise combines property management, financial management and modern tenant services. Previously, the residents’ website only functioned as an online service, where newsletters, notices and other issues concerning the housing association were only available via the website. Users had to log in separately to the website to stay up to date with the housing company’s current matters and property management announcements.

Visma Sirius wanted to develop a more user-friendly and accessible solution for the residents’ website, a mobile app that would allow the distribution of important notifications and messages without the need to go to the website. In this way, users would receive up-to-date information and notifications directly to their phones.

Solution

The development of the Hausvise mobile application aimed to enable effortless and up-to-date communication for housing company residents and shareholders, as well as provide board members with tools for monitoring the company’s financial data. Our development team handled the entire process, from UI and UX design to the app’s release in app stores.

User interface and user experience design play a key role in the design of a new product. Our goal was to create a user-friendly and intuitive experience, with a visual look and feel that made the app an attractive and recognizable part of the Hausvise brand.

The UX design included the following elements:

User interface design: we made the features of the existing web application work on the mobile application. 

App scalability: we made sure the app works on different sizes of mobile devices, and designed views separately for both phones and tablets.

Accessibility of designs: the mobile application’s target audience is broad, with users having diverse backgrounds and varying levels of experience. Therefore, accessibility was made a central focus in the user experience design.

Tailoring the illustrations and icons: the app contains various visual elements that we implemented to support the purpose of the app.

In the early stages of application development, we carried out a technology mapping and selection process. We took into account the technical requirements of the application, such as two-factor authentication for increased security and push notifications. We also worked with the client to design how to make the web service features work best in a mobile application with very different user interface requirements for different functionalities. Our mobile developers implemented a mobile application with views that corresponded to the functions and features of the Hausvise home page.

The developed application is a simplified version of the preceding web service in terms of functionality. The mobile app is user-friendly and secure, enhancing the overall experience of using the service.
