Identio got 7 new shareholders – up to 15 employees invested in the company

Identio is a company owned by its employees and the spring share issue brought seven new shareholders to the company. Currently, this means that over 80 percent of Identio’s personnel own a share of the company.

We regularly organize share issues aimed at employees, giving every permanent Identio employee the opportunity to purchase Identio shares. We want to keep ownership entirely within the company, which is why we have not accepted external investments.

We are delighted that our employees’ trust in our company’s operations and shared success was strongly reflected in this spring’s share issue. A total of 15 employees invested in Identio, with seven of them being new shareholders. Ownership further engages good employees in the company and provides the opportunity to build something of their own. It also financially rewards when succeeding together. With the new investors, ownership is now distributed even more widely in the company.

Identio’s CEO and co-founder Joonas Korgan has been granted the trust of the employees. He emphasizes the importance of having a good and motivated team.

– I am pleased that more than half of our employees wanted to invest in our company. We always strive to do our job well and committedly, and new partnerships communicate trust in the future. We are constantly working to grow, develop, and offer our customers even better service. I am grateful that these people want to be part of our team and work with a committed approach.

Identio congratulates the new shareholders!

Identio acquires eight new shareholders

Identio acquired eight new shareholders in January 2022. They previously had eight shareholders. Therefore, the number of owners doubled in one go. Some of the old shareholders also bought more shares. Identio already has a total of 16 owners.

At Identio, the employee has always come first. The founders, Joonas Korgan and Sami Suo- Heikki, have wanted to grant every employee the opportunity to become a shareholder. Partnership is a great way to engage good employees with the company and also offer them a chance to profit off of their success more than before. Partnership motivates the employee when they know that they are building something that matters to them.

Identio team members have always owned 100 per cent of Identio. All new shareholders are again current employees of the company and no outside investors have been invited to join.

Joonas Korgan, CEO, has high hopes for the future:

– I’m glad that our employees trust us this much. It was great to have this many new owners. The old owners invested more as well. The situation is putting pressure on me, but in a positive sense. Our employees believe in us, and now I have the obligation to work even harder and honour their expectations. I firmly believe that we will build a good foundation also for future success with this team.

Identio expands its operations from Turku to Helsinki and opens a new office

The new office of Identio will be opened today 16 August 2021 in Helsinki, in the Postitalo building facing the main railroad station. Their operations will be launched in Spaces’s facilities. This means that they will have a low threshold for increasing their capacity. At least three software engineers will start working in the Helsinki office during August and September.

Helsinki is a natural growing ground for Turku-based Identio. There are many great software professionals and interesting clients in the capital region. That is why we can offer our employees more career opportunities and even better services to our current and new clients.

Joonas Korgan, CEO, believes that despite the new remote work culture, they will still work with client on premises in the future:

– A majority of our clients’ offices are located in the capital region, and we want to be as close as possible to provide them the best possible services. Even though the share remote work has increased during the coronavirus pandemic, we believe that it will certainly be beneficial to be able to work at our clients’ offices if necessary.

Helsinki will open new doors to Identio in the future. It allows us to expand internationally in addition to Finnish cities.

Julius Rajala, software engineer and person in charge at the Helsinki office, has an optimistic outlook for the future:

– We have not kept our ideas about growth a secret this far. Many must already know that we aim for the global market. Helsinki provides us with an easy environment to polish our operations to better suit the international playing fields.

Identio Oy is a Turku-based company specialised in software consulting. In three years, it has grown from a small group of friends into a 19 strong specialist organisation. We develop our clients’ digital services with them and help them achieve significant commercial profits. In the last accounting period, Identio’s revenue was EUR 905,000 and result EUR 265,000. Our growth has continued and during 2021, our revenue will rise significantly above EUR 1.5 million.

Identio’s revenue and result in accounting period 2020

Identio’s accounting period 2020 was wrapped up with thankfulness and pride. The expectations were already high, but the result was even better than they had assumed.

We were able to hire many new employees during this exceptional year, which might have contributed to the significant increase in revenue. Their revenue in the accounting period 2019 was EUR 357,000. In 2020, the revenue increased by 153.4 per cent and reached EUR 905,000.

“At first, they estimated the revenue at EUR 500,000, then at EUR 750,000. We are very proud of the number.”

Sami Suo-Heikki

Identio’s goal for 2020 was a revenue of EUR 750,000. The growth was a pleasant surprise. Identio’s founding member Sami Suo-Heikki summarises things that enabled them to grow:

– Our recruiting was doing well during the whole last accounting period. It feels like we hired more people than we should have from the point of view of sales. We have also found our own place in the market.

In 2019, the result of the accounting period was EUR 75,000, while in 2020 it was slightly less than EUR 212,000. That means we made a profit of 23.5 per cent in 2020.

“I would advise everyone to think about people and numbers. Not only one of them.”

Sami Suo-Heikki

During the accounting period 2020, Identio upgraded from a micro enterprise into a small business. New professionals joined the team this year too. Joonas Korgan, CEO, has a positive outlook for the future:

– We have managed to make a bigger profit and keep our staff and clients happy. All of this has happened during a pandemic crisis. We attribute this success to our skilled, competent and involved staff.
